How to Use Split Screen Mode on iPad or iPhone

Spilt-Screen Mode enables a user to access two apps on a smart device at the same time. If you are searching for how to use the split-screen on iOS devices, then you have landed on the right website. Split-screen sometimes becomes a must feature in smart tablets and phones because sometimes you have to access two tabs or programs at once. This article will help you to learn how to use the split-screen feature on your iPhone or iPad.

How to Enable Split-Screen feature on iPhone and iPad?

Enabling the split-screen feature on the iPhone and iPad does not include any rocket science and can be done by anyone. Keep in mind that enabling this feature on any version of the iOS operating system is almost identical, so no matter which version of the iPad you are using, the same method will work on all devices. Follow the guide to activate the split-screen mode on iPad and iPhone:

Unlock your iPhone and iPad. Make sure you are on the home screen. Head to the Settings app. After that, navigate to the Display and Brightness option. Go to Display Zoom. Click on Zoom. Head to Set. Tap on Use Zoom.

How to Use the Split Screen Mode on iOS and iPadOS?

In the previous step, we have only enabled the settings that allow you to use the split-screen, but to use the feature, you have to perform a particular action on your device. Let’s learn how to access this feature without messing up too much:

Step 1: Open Two Apps

The first and most important thing that you need is the apps that you want to use on the split-screen. So, first of all, open the first app on your device. Once the first app is open, find another app you want to open and then close the second app too. That means you have to open it just for a while. Now the app will show up in the toolbar of your device and on the bottom of the display.

Step 2: Open the Primary App

After that, open the first app again or the app that you want to split-screen with. If you wish to open both apps in the same size on your screen, then choose the option which will consume the most part of your device screen.

Now swipe your finger on your device screen from down to upward direction to trigger the toolbar. Now in the toolbar, you will find other recent apps or the background apps. Your second app should also appear in the toolbar so that you can use it as the secondary app.

Step 3: Drag and Drop the Secondary App

Now that you have the first app opened on your device screen, you have to drag the secondary app. To start the spit screen on your iOS device, long-press the second app that you want to use with the first app. Keep that app holding and then drag it out from the toolbar.

Hover the app on the first app on the main screen, and it will look like a long thin rectangular window. Now you can drag the app from left to right or right to left according to your preference. Once you are satisfied with the placement of the secondary app, release your finger from the second app. The app will open there, along with your first app. Keep in mind that some apps might not support or allow the split-screen due to security and technical issues.
