Go through the user which you wish to block.
Press on the plus symbol.
If it is a new contact, then fill their full information.
It is compulsory to add the email ID and phone number of that contact.

Go to the Blocked option.
Press on the plus symbol.
Now, that contact will be added to the blocked list.
Steps to Fix Messages Not Working Error
Log out from the Messages.
Again, log in to the account.
Disable the iMessage.
Enable the iMessage again.
Go through the phone number which you are currently using on the Mac.
Make sure that email ID is registered with the Apple ID.
In case you are using more than one Apple ID, then you have to log in with the same email ID which is on the Mac and iPhone or iPad.
In case you are not receiving a message from anyone, click on the Contacts application.
Find that person by entering their name.
After that, check whether you have entered a correct email ID and phone number which they are using in the Messages.
